Alberta Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS)
The Alberta Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) was established in Alberta in 1985 to reduce the number of critical care deaths that were being seen across the province – largely due to the time involved in reaching rural communities and evacuating patients to larger hospitals.
As part of our Safe Communities Program, Enbridge’s grants have helped STARS purchase two new emergency rescue helicopters as they continue to provide safe, rapid medical transport for critically ill and injured individuals.
Our ongoing support of STARS now moves us into a new era as we support the organization in the planned expansion of services to rural communities across Saskatchewan in 2012.
Enbridge appreciates the important contributions of first responders and is proud to partner with STARS as it continues to respond to trauma and medical calls, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
